Outreach Bilingual Service

Outreach Bilingual Service (OBS)

OBS has evolved from a humble bible study group formed in 2006 to nurture members of GMC who spoke only Mandarin and Dialect to what it is now an Outreach Bilingual Service. Previously it was known as Mandarin Dialect Outreach (MDO). The main aim of OBS is to reach out to Mandarin/ Dialect speaking parents, relatives and friends through fellowship, visitation and invitation to a number of the outreach events and activities.

OBS meets every Sunday afternoon from 1.45pm to 3.30pm at the MPH (2 nd level of the church building) for a time of worship, word and fellowship to reach out to both the Mandarin and English speaking friends and members of the church. Apart from the weekly worship service, the OBS meets before and after service for the various bible study, lunch and tea fellowship. The BAGs meet during the weekdays and Saturdays to continue to nurture the members and newcomers while the Care Team visits the homebound and elderly members on every Saturday afternoon.

This year the OBS has planned many events and activities with the aim to build not just the relational but also the spiritual bonds between her new believers and members. These are the Chinese New Year Reunion Celebration, Combine Western and Chinese Valentine's Day, Easter Celebration, Mother's and Father's Day, Family Day and etc.

We welcome you to participate in the above activities and perhaps use the opportunity to bring any of your friends who are mandarin or bilingual speaking to attend the OBS.
